JOB PURPOSE
CONMEBOL Libertadores and CONMEBOL Sudamericana digital brand is growing, and we need great minds that love soccer to join us. We’re looking for an Editor to create, assign and manage editorial that will thrive on FC Diez platforms.

In this role you will be responsible for writing, editing and revising content that's posted, or for creating supplemental posts to draw awareness to articles or other types of content.

You will need to have a strong understanding of what content soccer fans around the world want to consume related to the biggest South American club tournaments. You will know what our audience wants before they do and how best to present it. You’ll have a proven ability to think on your feet and react rapidly to the news agenda. For this role, being able to plan around the football calendar is essential.
KEY DELIVERABLES (WHAT WILL YOU DO IN YOUR ROLE?)
- Create original content for online media.
- Revise, rewrite, or edit articles.
- Review, revise, and edit the work of writers.
- Offer comments or suggestions to improve written work before publication.
- Suggest possible titles.
- Track real-time traffic and monitor traffic reports
- Ensure commercial and multimedia requests are completed
- Liaise with English, Spanish and Portuguese editions to coordinate content creation and publication.
- A minimum of five years of journalistic experience, preferably online.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Excellent news sense and journalistic instinct
- High level of football knowledge, particularly across major South American biggest tournaments
- Outstanding writing ability and attention to detail
- Strong time-management and interpersonal skills
- Expert at posting engaging content across social media platforms, particularly Facebook and Twitter
- Brand savvy, audience focused, digital native – passionate and knowledgeable about digital content
- Vast experience using content management systems
- Ability to speak or understand Spanish and English
- Team player, but equally confident when working independently.
- To interpret ideas/stories in a way which demonstrates an understanding of news on all platforms.
- Experience in training and mentoring junior members of staff.
